High technology: Airgreen - Vertical Mag

When it comes to moving the instruments of industry into high terrain, Airgreen proves that the helicopter is in a league of its own. Among the earliest to foresee the opportunities for aviation here were Giuseppe and Mauro Airaudi, the owners of a forestry business whose crop extended across the alpine foothills. Recognizing the potential for aircraft to prevent losses incurred to wildfires, the brothers began to research aerial firefighting in 1986.Soon, other local companies were expressing an interest in contracted lifting work, and after the purchase of another Lama, the brothers established a separate entity to service the burgeoning requirement. Airgreen was born, and before long, the company was signing contracts to support domestic onshore oil-and-gas exploration. With the purchase came more aircraft (Alouette IIIs, Lamas and Agusta-Bell AB412s) and the responsibility to fulfil the rescue services contract in Italy’s most mountainous region, home to Mont Blanc — the highest peak in Europe — and the infamously lethal Matterhorn. Both the AW139 and AW169 are fitted with medical interiors by Aerolite, with the H145 interior provided by Macær Aviation Group (MAG). The aircraft are also all equipped with a single hoist, a backup unit being superfluous and likely not worth the additional weight for onshore rescue scenarios, particularly in the mountains where performance is at a premium.

Green Air Conditioning - cost, value, tips, & alternative systems

When it comes to systems in your home that are decidedly un-green, air conditioning ranks pretty near the top of the list. According to the Rocky Mountain Institute, air conditioning accounts for nearly 50 percent of the energy use in the United States during peak summer months, and air conditioning is responsible for nearly 100 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year. That said, green air conditioning is available for homeowners who wish to reduce their carbon footprint without sweltering away during the summer months. How much is going green going to cost you when it comes to air conditioning? The real question should be how much it’s going to cost you if you don’t. It’s true that green air conditioning will require a higher initial investment. Yet, you can reduce home energy usage by 20 to 50 percent by going green in the cooling department. So it’s easy to see how this is one instance where going green is almost guaranteed to pay for itself, and more, as time goes by. Check out our AC Cost Calculator to compare prices between different home air conditioners.Reduced utility bills aside, the real value of going green extends far beyond the energy savings you’ll enjoy. In the case of air conditioning, going green means a healthier home environment for you and your family, a reduction in fossil fuel consumption and the creation of greenhouse gases, and the peace of mind in knowing that you’re doing your part in creating a better, more environmentally responsible world for your children and grandchildren.

Disappearing Green: The Silent Struggle For Clean Air In Nairobi

NAIROBI, Kenya – The sun beats down on Tom Mboya Street, where buses belch black smoke into the air and vendors shout amid the constant honking of matatus A visit to Kenyatta National Hospital revealed a lung infection aggravated by long-term exposure to polluted air. “It felt like the city I depend on for survival was slowly choking me,” he says. For him, the city’s fading green lungs aren’t an abstract concern, they are a daily struggle to stay healthy.Romanus Opiyo, an environmentalist at Stockholm Environment Institute, says that urban areas block air circulation, leading to poor air quality and compromised health. “Lack of green spaces and built-up areas act as blockades to air circulation which actually compromises people’s health and wellbeing,” said Opiyo, who stresses the importance of addressing challenges like human capital, budget allocation and community awareness and proper implementation of the Nairobi integrated Urban Development master plan.A comparison of Nairobi over two decades shows the loss of green cover: Top: in 2001 and Bottom: 2020 (both on 31 December). “Sometimes it feels like someone is pressing down on my chest, the pain comes suddenly and I just stop what I am doing until it passes,” says Muro. Air pollution is the leading risk factor for death in Nairobi. The steady increase in air pollution over the last decade has been fueled by motor vehicle emissions, industrial activity, open burning of waste, and the continued loss of trees and green buffers that once absorbed some of these pollutants.

Why aviation’s green promises face growing legal risks - Air Cargo Week

Greenwashing litigation against airlines is a recent trend arising out of an increased focus on reducing carbon emissions, the aviation industry’s continued Rising greenwashing litigation in aviation: Airlines, airports, and OEMs face growing legal scrutiny over misleading environmental claims, with high-profile cases including Ryanair and KLM highlighting the risks of overstated green credentials.Greenwashing litigation against airlines is a recent trend arising out of an increased focus on reducing carbon emissions, the aviation industry’s continued failure to meet proposed environmental targets, and inaccurate statements made by airlines about the environmental measures they have implemented. At present, many green aviation technologies remain in their infancy, in terms of either their use or development, which has caused the industry to fall behind on its climate change targets, which has been widely publicised. Airlines, which bear the brunt of that negative press, have attempted to address it by pushing their green credentials publicly, but this has resulted in some airlines inadvertently making misleading statements about their efforts to mitigate the environmental impact of their business.By way of a recent example, Ryanair was criticised by the UK Advertising Standards Authority for misleadingly claiming in an advert that it was Europe’s lowest emissions airline, and KLM was found by a Dutch court to have misled consumers in a marketing campaign which referenced its environmental credentials. In recent years, there has been an increased regulatory focus on transparency regarding corporate green credentials.

Indoor Greenery Guide - 10 Best Plants for Air Purification and Low Light

Want to improve the air quality in your home without spending a fortune on high-tech air purifiers? You’re not alone. A simple, natural way to refresh your living space is by adding houseplants. These green companions can absorb toxins, reduce allergens, and even help with humidity. They’ve engineered enhanced houseplants that reportedly clean air up to 30 times faster. Adding greenery to your home won’t hurt and can slightly improve air quality by absorbing pollutants like formaldehyde, benzene, and other VOCs.Adding greenery to your home won’t hurt and can slightly improve air quality by absorbing pollutants like formaldehyde, benzene, and other VOCs. Plus, theyFirst, let’s manage expectations. Air Fryer Green Beans | Gimme Some Oven

This air fryer green beans recipe turns out perfectly each time and can be on the table in just 15 minutes! They’ve become an absolute staple in our weeknight dinner routine lately — easy to make in 15 minutes total, perfectly tender in the middle, and irresistibly crisp and golden around the edges every time. I always used to roast green beans in the oven, but the air fryer version is faster and easier.I highly recommend using French green beans (haricots verts) here, since they cook quickly and stay extra delicate, but regular green beans work just as well if that’s what you have on hand. We most often make ours simply with salt, pepper, and a hint of garlic powder, but you can absolutely play around with other spices to make them your own. However you choose to season them, air frying is the way to go!Every air fryer model runs a little differently, so keep an eye on the beans during the last few minutes. If you prefer extra-charred edges, let them go a minute or two longer. Use French beans (haricots verts) if possible. Their thinner shape helps them crisp up beautifully, but thicker green beans will still work — just add a minute or two to the cook time. One of the best things about this recipe is how flexible it can be with seasonings! Here are a few of my other favorite ways to season these green beans: Cheesy: Toss with a handful of freshly-grated Parmesan or Pecorino Romano as soon as they come out of the air fryer.
